Job Summary:
We are seeking a Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) for an evening shift role in a hospital laboratory setting. The candidate will perform a variety of laboratory tests across multiple departments, ensuring accurate and timely results to support patient care.
Shift Details:
- Evening Shift
- Schedule may vary based on facility needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform laboratory testing in areas including Chemistry, Hematology, Coagulation, Microbiology, Blood Bank, and Urinalysis
- Operate and maintain laboratory instruments and analyzers
- Analyze and verify test results for accuracy and reliability
- Perform quality control and ensure compliance with lab standards
- Assist with blood bank procedures and blood gas analysis
- Conduct drug screening and rapid diagnostic testing
- Document results in LIS systems (EPIC/Beaker, Wellsky)
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare staff
- Maintain lab safety, cleanliness, and regulatory compliance
Instrumentation (Experience Required):
Candidates must have hands-on experience with similar instruments, including:
- Chemistry: Ortho Vitros 7600
- Urinalysis: Arkray, Siemens Clinitek Status Plus
- Hematology: Sysmex XN-1000, XN-550
- Coagulation: Siemens CS-2500
- Drug Screens: MedTox
- Blood Gases: GEM 4000
- Blood Bank: Manual Gel (Ortho)
- Molecular: Cepheid systems
- Microbiology: Blood cultures, gram stains (no plating)
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or related field
- ASCP Certification (MLS/MT) OR MT (AMT) – Required
- Minimum 1+ year of clinical lab experience (preferred)
- Strong knowledge of laboratory procedures and instrumentation
- Experience with LIS systems (EPIC/Beaker preferred)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Hospital or acute care lab experience
- Experience across multiple lab departments
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
Work Setting:
- Hospital Laboratory (Acute Care)
- Fast-paced, high-volume environment
